Facilities notwithstanding, these islands have never outgrown their original backpacker mentality. The smaller outfits have no proper reception area or management as such, so do not be surprised to be faced by grumpy and/or ignorant staff. Water is also a problem during the dry months.

The island’s only 3 star resort with 104 beautifully-furnished chalets and bungalows with ensuite bath and air-conditioning, some on the private beach. No problem with water. Excellent fresh grilled fish and dinner buffet, but food here is on the pricey side; dive shop, non-motorised sea-sports, tennis and swimming pool, circular jungle trek behind the resort, tours. Cheaper rates from tour agencies.
